Bike Question?

Is an R6 a good stunt bike.. yes or no?
It's a bike with 2 wheels and with ok power, so I say yes and I have seen some crazy **** done on them. But I have been sent over to stunt life to ask. We are having an argument on another site about the R6, and I was told to come over and take it up with the cats at stunt life to determine whether the R6 is a good stunt bike, and if it's not why?

Anyone got any imput on this :YEAH

Re: Bike Question?

its really on in what bike you want to stunt, ive seen people rock them great but then ive heard people say their garbage..if you feel comfortable on it ride it. but if your not comfortable on it its not worth trashing a nice bike if your uncomfortable on it.

Re: Bike Question?

r6 is a good stunt bike in my opinion. everyone prefers a honda cause they hold up better. but i think any bike that you can get at a good price would make a good stunt bike. the cheaper the better. good luck

Re: Bike Question?

from what i seen, the 03 style r6's are shitty for stuntin. all the riders i know that own that bike have problems with wobbly wheelies. i know it's prolly the rider, but it's just weird that all the guys i know, seem to be having the same problem with wobble in the wheelies. and all of them have different set up's (gears, tire pressure, etc..). also the frame and subframe crack very easy..

Put a crash cage on it. Yamahas are very fragile.

Re: Bike Question?

a crash cage will put even more stress on the fragile frame.

Re: Bike Question?

I've just done fast stuff on my 04 R6, and its very twitchy with the power. And if you don't have your stance just perfect it gets very wobly doing highway wheelies (60mph+). I've also heard the and seen on here, that the 03-04 frames and subframes are very weak, but the 99-02's seems to be alright. If you can get one for a good price though, anything will do.

Re: Bike Question?

only good for regular stand ups. Not a good stuntbike at all. I've heard that they'll crack at the neck of the frame. And one of the years has the subframe welded to the mainframe. How stupid is that. Buy a honda. You wont regret it. :YEAH

Re: Bike Question?

I have a '03 R6 and haven't had anything break in the frame or subframe and yes I have a cage on it too. I love it cuz it is light as hell and has plenty of power for what I use it for. And yes I am knocking on wood as I speak.

Some great missinformation there The old R1s have the subframe welded to the main frame not any R6.

LOL I always thought my wheelies were twichy now I can blame it on my bike. I'll soon enough know if thee 636 is any better than the R6 :YEAH

Re: Bike Question?

i'm riding a 00 r6 right now because i totaled my nasty6r, but i like it a lot :YEAH it;s light , comes up straight, and I haven't had any problems with wobbles but put a damper on it right away so you don't learn the hard way after a 4th gear interstate wheelie wobble. the r6 is an endo machine too, it rolls them so sweet and straight and the damn thing has bent forks even. my thoughts are if you already own one, rock it, but if not get an f4i!
