Why does my tire always lock up on endos?

Why does my tire always lock up on endos?
I've been working on endos lately but I am not having any luck. I run 25psi in both tires but everytime i try and endo the tire locks up. I can get it to grab at a slow speed and just stop fast but obviously thats not what were going for here. I'm not sure if its just bad body position or my crappy metezler tires or what but they always lock up. I try and compress the front end then kind of bounce my weight forward with more brake once or twice and then do a hard grab but no luck. Anyone go any advice? And on another thought we have a how to wheelie and how to circle wheelie sticky, why don't we have a how to endo sticky?

if u brake too much 4for the shocks are bottomed out it will lock up.
make sure your tire is warm.. slightly apply more brake as it is slowing down and once the shocks are all the way down givit a little more... but donnot jab or yank on the lever, the suddnen brake makes it lock up,, just slowly squeeze the lever.

When i do mine, i make sure the tires are warm by going on a nice little 20 or 30 minute ride. Then at about 50mph, i start pullin in on the brake and lifting my butt of the seat a few inche's. Keep applying the brake at a constant rate (when you do a quick grab you just lock up the tire) then the rear will start coming up. By the way, i put my bike in neutral before i start any of this. Also, don't do them when coming to a redlight. There's so much oil and crap there that'll cause the front to lock up too.

there could be a bunch of reasons why your front is locking up. i'm not the best at stoppies, my longest in only about 200 feet, but here's are a few tips i found work best for me.
1. use a race tire - the softer compound grips the road alot better then street tires. keep in mind that most stoppies are done from speeds between 50-70 mph. and your front tire is the ONLY thing that grips the ground. so if you have a shitty front tire the bike will more likely slide instead up gripping the ground and bring the rear up.
2. use fresh brake pads - even though you may still have alot of pad left, they might be glazed a little. glazed pads give a "slipping" feeling, so in turn you pull the brake harder, then bamn the front locks up. i myself did noticed that new pads have a better feel while doing stoppies. i change mine every 6 months. also make sure the WHOLE front brake system is in 100% working order. no air in the system, no bent rotors, etc etc..
3. let the front compress - very important to let the front compress before bringing the rear off the ground. if you pull the brake too hard before the front compress, you'll prolly slide.
4. watch the road - make sure when doing stoppies the road is clear of gravel, oil, water, etc. i'm not sure if you guys use paint or sitckers for road markings, but here in hawaii they use heavy duty stickers for lane markings. it's very slippery when trying to stoppie on them.
ok hope this helps.

Re: Why does my tire always lock up on endos?
I think i'll try and be more progressive with the braking. I might have learned some bad habits from the fiddy, i think i'm braking too hard once the shocks have compressed....
And it is to cold to be trying em here right now, but it was 60' the other day so i went out for a bit. Probably have to wait for awhile before i get to practice them again. Thanks for the help.

My best endo..... It was about 50 out and the tires were semi warm. I always tap once and then apply increasing pressure and lean forward with my body weight. Hope this helps.
