i'm thinking about getting a camera too. You should check out camcorderinfo.com for some good info. I think i'll get a panosonic gs120. At about $700 retail it's the cheapest camera with 3ccd's. For something better, the best camera between 1 and 2000 is supposed to be the gs400.
Btw, where do you live? I'm going to the UMN this year and live in downtown minneapolis.

i JUST bought that 3ccd panasonic 120, **** is tight as hell (small) and my fisheye fits on it with an adapter from my last camera. glad it doenst have one of those small eyes liek eth tiny teeny cameras do. all i wanted was 3 ccd's and digital. left best buy spending 850$ open box (extra 10% off), 4 tapes, and a warranty. it only has 1.2MP for pics but for my web use, which is liek 100x640 or whatever that size is they look crispy, when i used the pics for stretching it fo rmy desktop it loks fine, loses res but is fine

I've got a JVC GR-D32U... nice camera, reasonably priced (500 CAN).. I like it. Lol I put griptape on it so now it's a stuntcam... now if only it would make me do better stunts....

Re: what cameras do you use to film?
my friend was filming me with his digital foto (Cannon Power shoot A70 I think) which has movie recording option. Quality is nice, 640x480 .AVI format. And I have a analog Panasonic camera and was using it from time to time b/c everything I wanted to put on my computer I needed to "download" over the TV-card which I don't have and had to go bother one friend every single time...
