Converting video

Hey,
I'm trying a little novist editing and I ran into a little problem. Whenever my camera (Minolta Dimage X20) exports to my computer, the video file is formatted in Quicktime.
In order for me to use Windows Movie Maker the video file must be supported by Windows. For this reason I need some sort of video cleaner or convertor.
Does anyone know how to do this.

Re: Converting video

when you find the file in "my videos" or what ever, right click, go to properties(all the way at the bottum), it will say open with quiktime, or something like that, and there will be somehting that says "change program" right next to it, click on that, and coose media player...

Re: Converting video

to edit the video in WMM, I believe it has to be mpg or avi format, if it is mpg, the above trick should do it, but otherwise you are gonna have to use a utillity or QT Pro to export the file and save it as an AVI, at which point, WMM should accept it fine.

Your absolutly correct about that, but my problem was finding a Video converter to convert them from "mov" to "AVI".
I did find one but I think it's a trial. I also found the antidote for the trial on Astalavista!!!
