anyone stuned the kawi 600rr yet

i seen many post about how great the 636 is but i havent seen nothign about the 600rr... i can get one of these dirt cheap basically still mint... just wondering if anyones actually stunted one, any opinions would be appreciated ... i already know they dont hold up too well along the lines of cases rearsets and clipons from the 636 reviews....

either way im still gonna get it but i just wanna see what other say about them

Re: anyone stuned the kawi 600rr yet

My friend has one that he just started stunting. He likes the power of it, and its freakin super light, but when he bounces on the pegs you can see the pegs flex, but from what I'm hearing its the same with the 636. And the front stay is plastic somewhere or something, cuz he already broke it on an endo gone bad. So far he says its pimp. It feels weird to me cuz the clip-ons feel like they are super freakin low. Not sure if thats the same with the 636 or not.

Re: anyone stuned the kawi 600rr yet

most part that concerned me was the slipper clutch's effects because that doesnt seem like somethign that could go well with stunting

i know the slipper clutch was designed for faster exits on turns thus creating less wheelspin upon exiting the turn

Re: anyone stuned the kawi 600rr yet

The slipper clutch is for coming into corners. IT's to keep the back wheel from locking up when you are hard on the brakes and engine brakeing. You don't want wheel hop and skidding going into a turn. They work normal under acceleration.

Re: anyone stuned the kawi 600rr yet

To my understanding the 600rr will be more of a track style bike because it was made specifically to meet AMA requirements (displacement) hence the clutch being a slipper. But a local racer told me there isnt really anything else different about the bike. I'm guessing same bike, but smaller bore.

636 is pretty tight though, I rock my buds bone stock and love it. Only complaint is the clipons, really low, we turned them out and the have a really awkward angle.

Yeah you gotta get all your down shifting done before you hit a corner, so you gotta bang down a few gears before you hit some corners, so the clutch slips so the wheel doesn't lock up on you. I believe it only slips when the wheel is spinning faster than the motor can , so I don't think it will affect clutching a wheelie.

Tell him to take them off and flip em'. Left one upside down of right side and vise-versa. They end up being perfectly flat across. I've got mine like that and it's tons better. You just have to drill a couple locating holes for the switch housings, no biggie.
