Bigger Sprockets

going from stock to anything from +2 to +20 in the rear how does this effect clutching it up to BP?? Is it a lot easier than with stock gearing and how about riding them out?? I've heard second gear almost becomes like your first?? I've never ridden with anything other than stock so I wanted to hear from everybody who uses them what the deal is. Post up

Re: Bigger Sprockets

I HAD A =21 ON MY 929, DIDN'T USE FIRST GEAR MUCH.

PUT THE SAME 21 UP ON MY F4i , I WOULDN'T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY...
MAKES CLUTCHING SO DAMN EASY, AND THE MOTOR BRAKE IS AWESOME.

TAKES A SECOND TO GET USE TO IT IF YA HAVEN'T RIDEN WITH IT BEFORE , BUT ONCE YA GET IT, MAN IT'S ON...

JUST MY I KNOW ALOT OF PEOPLE DON'T LIKE SPROCKETS THAT BIG

Re: Bigger Sprockets

it'll be a lot faster on throttle response and it'll be twitchier. takes a while to get used to it. your wheelies will probably wobble to til you get used to it.

Re: Bigger Sprockets

+17 up on the 636. Love it, first gear is great for the lots, second for speed limit wheelies in the city, and third for highways

It was pretty twitchy at first, but you get used to it and it becomes like second nature.

Re: Bigger Sprockets

I had my SV1000s as my stunt bike with 1 down in front and 3 up in the rear. I just got a '01 GSX-r 1000, and it is my new stunter. I was wondering what the best stunt gearing is for this bike to give me the same torquey feel as my SV... and where you suggest getting it from. thanks a ton.
