Burnout Clutch?

Well I was practicing my wheleies today and ended up getting a few quite high almost to BP. However when a few kids walked buy i felt like showing off and did a burnout.

Aparantly i blew my clutch in the process as now when I put it into first gear and let the clutch out it acts like it's in neutral.. gg me =(

anyone done this? is it my clutch? I havent had a chance to take it to the shop yet but damn what a bummer !

Re: Burnout Clutch?

yes.. your clutch. but you have to remember rojer your bike is air cooled and you were trying to wheelie for like 1 hour and then a burnout for 2 minutes cause u left it in neutral. also ur clutch was gone cause it shouldn't die that quick

Re: Burnout Clutch?

ouch you got shafted.. it was prolly just the plates and you coulda done it yourself, they are mad easy to install... get a ZX6 repair manual.. just gotta take off the side cover, take out the bolts holding the springs on then slide the clutch plates off, dip the new ones in oil put them back on. like 100$ for the new clutch kit and 20 minutes of yer time

I dont like to do it that way cause half the time i end up having the front wheel lock up for a bit and that is a little scary. but a buddy mine does it that way on his 929, but that is also cause he likes to do it down the road at like 50-60mph. cool to watch, but i aint trying it.

i could understand not using it for a rolling burnout. but if your doing it from a stop... its a little harder. when i did my burnouts i just held the front brake, took it up to about 5K and slowly let up the cluctch till the wheel started spinning. when i get my stunt bike im gonna work on rolling burnouts but until then im happy when just circle burnouts.

Re: Burnout Clutch?

dude to do burnouts its basicly like doing a wheelie you just snap the clutch fast to break the wheel lose,if the front wheel is planted on the pavement good you can rev limit it and just snap the clutch out..but its not always that easy.

yes, your very right, its not always easy. before i got new tires i had a VERY sticky race take off on the back and my shitty worn down stock tire on the front. my front would slide for a good 5 to 6 feet before i could get the back to start spinning and even then it started to wheelie a little. finially after all tread was gone on the front and my back was practactly done i got out the tire shine stuff (VERY SLIPPERY) and poured it all over the back tire. She spun and smoked like crazy. next time im gonna use bleech, shouldnt that make it have an insance amount of smoke?

Re: Burnout Clutch?

lol.. rojer rides with me and I taught him how to wheelie/burnout.
all I do it grab front brake + lean up on front tire + rev to 10k + let clutch out slowly but fast and it spins instantly..
