Re: Which cage "best" protects plastics

seems like FI cages would protect the best, they dont seem to roll over onto the cowl or flip as often.

This is from what ive seen off stunt vids and shiz. All i know is that 905 cages roll over onto the cowl 5 outa 10 times.

Ill tell you how good my MXD cage protects as soon as i get it and start droppin some **** lol.

Re: Which cage "best" protects plastics

ive seen 905 protect well, and Novaman,a couple weeks ago i saw a guy loop his 954 at like 25 and it hit the FI cage and rolled it over to the cowl, busted off the headlight and messed up some **** on the front brake,i think it depends on the crash but all cages will roll it.

Re: Which cage "best" protects plastics

if you buy a 905 cage: find a welder and have them weld a piece of steel across from the 905 sticker. if you look at the cage, it would be the opposite corner that their sticker is in. then mount a frame slider to the piece of steel, it will keep the bike from rolling.

905 uses a thinner wall than us and we already weld a cross brace. plus we powder coat instead of paint, are $25 cheaper and ship for free, and we have sliders too. why not skip all the extra bs and get one of ours and you wont need shin guards either. if you want a slider next to the rear mount, i can do that too.

905 makes some really nice fairing stays, 12 bars are freestlye, hand brakes are full throttle inc. thats all you need

Re: Which cage "best" protects plastics

my FI cage does a great job of protecting my upper when i crash....it has only barely nicked it once. obviously never gets the lowers, and i've yet to hit my tail.

plus you can take the loop off and ride hard on the streets or track...takes 10-15 minutes.

when you crash, how hard does your bike hit the ground? im sure with you being a pro and all, you dont wreck very hard.

what speeds are you crashing at normally? how often do you wreck?

Re: Which cage "best" protects plastics

i'm no pro. i'm just know how to control the bike.

i dont remember the last time i crashed at over 20 mph, true..but i've dropped it a few times from HC scrapes, highsided circles, short ghost rides, etc. so i guess, i dont (knock on wood) 'crash' too often, but i certainly use the cage for its' intended purpose.

watch servin it up 2 and 3 to see how a FI holds up to repeated crashes.

and i really didnt wanna reply to this thread anymore, i'm sick of these cage threads...i just put my personal experiences out there for everyone to take in....my upper is protected well. you can see a pretty fast crash from an older zannman clip where i barrel roll the bike with just FI slider. the only upper damage i had was the stupid gauge stay, and that was from bascially landing upside down.

beleive it or not, im sick of them too.

and youre a pro, quite lying. you get free bikes, parts, gear, youre about as professional as it gets in this sport.

answer this though, why dont you guys ever come out to cali to hold an event? everything is always in texas

Re: Which cage "best" protects plastics

i'd love to come to cali...we are trying to get some riders out there to organize some stuff in conjunction with some east/mid coast events...

this is my first time in TX...it is only there bc that is where the fmx stuff is.

the east coast has consistently had events every year and we are trying to expand those events all over the country to eventually incorporate a national championship series.

Argo Cycles is the ONLY reason i am even out there in the public...without them, i would be found in the woods riding my dirtbikes and in the streets/parking lots riding my streetbike ( i dont own one right now....lol) by myself....hopefully they wont cut me off cuz i'm a broke azz teacher! lol

Re: Which cage "best" protects plastics

i dont want this to tun into a "which cage is better" thread,

this was meant to get personal feed back from people that have wrecked thier bikes with whatever cage they are using.
we all know that the cage will protect the engine, i want to know how the plastics hold up with each cage.

thanks to the people that have replied,
please keep them comin.

they all protect fairly well. its more of a style thing. 905s tend to bend into the cases because they dont use a cross brace and they use a thinner tube.

our cages will scrape in a turn fairly easy, thats why we make 2 diferent models.

fi you will bottom out on dips and speed bumps.

dont know much about powers. i know they bs about taking 7000 lbs of force though, which might be true, but they havent tested them the proper way to prove this. and they have a really bad photoshop pic of the owner 12in

and any cage thread will turn into a which one is better thread. they all do because you are asking which cage protects plastics BEST? and if its the best then its obviously going to have to be better in order to be the best.

this is an honest opinion, ive had a 905, FI and obviously my own on my personal bikes. if you want some pics of a bike that has gone down 5 times on the same side in the past 2 months, give me an email, ill send you some pics.
