slow wheelies harder?
hey guys i was wondering if slow wheelies were harder or something....
Im trying to get the hang up riding bp / near 12 wheelies on my dirtbike (03 CRF150) and it doesnt have too much power so im going from a standstill in 1st gear ....
when i start ridin em out, the bike seems to want to lean so i gotta bring it back down, which leads me to my question... are slow wheelies harder or something?
or is there somethin that could be wrong with my body position thats making it lean to the side?
thanks in advance

Re: slow wheelies harder?
yes slow wheelies are much harder because u need throttle, brake , body p[osition control all at the same time. i wud learn wheelies on ur 150 in 2nd or 3rd get bp really good. bp i s really high on that thing and when u hit it , it'll feel wheight less. once u can ride ur wheelies there for a while go back to first and work on the brake. u wont go side to side in 2nd or 3rd cuz ur going faster. hope this helps, any other ?s post em up -zack

Re: slow wheelies harder?
yea i can bounce it up in 2nd but not very high yet... would it be better to do these on the street?
also, either im not skilled enough or the bike doesnt have enough power to get it up in 3rd - ive tried....
as for the weightless feeling -- yeah its f***in sweet... i get scared and jump off the back when it gets to 12 and then im just holdin the bike at 12 saying to myself "dammit whyd you jump off you ***** that was perfect!" i still need to get the back break thing down im using engine break 90% of the time now

Re: slow wheelies harder?
thats good, i was only suggesting using 3rd to keep it from wobbleing. no that u have bp and weightless go to first pract clutching it up from almost a dead stop, but not completely. and just catch it with that, the trick is that next time u want to jump pff hit the brake instead. pretty soon u'll be draggin tail. body position is very imp too, if u notice people wheelie 50;s there always stickin there knees out or taking a foot off, u will prolly hafta do the same.. as for the street, its up to u i dohnt think itll matter that much where u r.

Re: slow wheelies harder?
Think about how unstable a bike is when its traveling at slower speeds as apposed to higher speeds.
My experience with slower stuff has shown me that you need to know how to work the rear break well (haha... woops) and that the bike has a tendency to get real wobbely and unstable and your constantly feeling like your goin to wreck.
So slow wheelies are a whole different animal, and yes they are much harder.
