+10 sprocket

I calculated my top speed would be around 145 with a 10 up sprocket. If my bike lifts the tire in first a little at 7k full throttle, what should I expect as far as first gear and second gear once it has the +10?

Will a 120 link chain be enough? Will it eat the chain guards up even if I keep the front stock?

120 link is more than enough, I went +12 on my f3 and I had to cut some links off.

Re: +10 sprocket

i went 10 up on my 900rr, it was 111 links. that gave me some room to play with chain tension too. with 10 up i could throttle up in 3rd with no clutch or bounce.....i wouldnt go nailing it in 1st with 10 up....

Re: +10 sprocket

No I want my bike geared so I can do higher speed stuff with more engine brake since my 2nd gear doesn't have enough.

Squidmark looped a wheelie his 1st night out with his new gears. I hope i dont do the same lol. He looped how i did though, rode it and then went back. Not popin it up into BP or nuttin.

I still gotta decide what gearing i wanna go with next summer, im thinkin somethin like -1 (already down) +10 myself. Anyone know what a F2 will top out at with -1 +10. Ive had the bike up to about 135, Squidmark said he hit 140 somethin on his.

You're a dumbass. A +10 sprocket will make 2nd gear similar to 1st gear(twitchy throttle, more engine brake). Why didn't you just learn wheelies in first gear?

Re: +10 sprocket

I want the option of being able to do slower stuff in first with a lot of engine brake, and faster in second with the same engine brake my first gear has now.

Re: +10 sprocket

this is the most retarded reason for putting on a +10 i've ever heard of, just do it in first

Re: +10 sprocket

I'll probably just go -1 +3. I want a lot of engine brake in first at lower speeds.

Re: +10 sprocket

+6 shouldnt make too big of an effect on your top speed, unless your a real big speed junky it shouldnt be a huge differnce, what gearing are you running now?
