plastic sliders for cages and ehhhh sliders?

We've been beating up our cages and sliders pretty bad. They are all just metal and tend to dig in and bend when the hit the pavement instead of actually sliding. I think if we could get some plastic/nylon whatever they are sliders on the ends it would help alot. I've seen some people just use some kind of a cap on the ends of their sliders, what do you use? Best idea i had was a pvc end pipe but i'm pretty sure that would just break the first time it hit the ground.

Re: plastic sliders for cages and ehhhh sliders?

A friend makes our cages...they are very similar to 905's design. He ended up making cups that slide into the hollow top mount, and then bolted regular frame sliders to them. That way, the sliders aren't solid, because they aren't bolted thru the frame into the motor. Instead of breaking stuff on REALLY hard hits, the bolts just bend.

What the hell is delron.

We tried pvc caps last night. We "tested" them first. Thrown at the ground as hard as i could they didn't crack, slid them across the parking lot out of a moving car (pusing them against the ground) they held up good. Three hard whacks with a hammer sent them flying in a million pieces...

you mean delrin... thats what most plastic sliders are made out of. Very light yet tough and self lubricating.
