How to wheelie on a Katana 600

I own a 2004 Katana 600 and want to learn how to do wheelies on it. However, I have no idea how to do it. Does anyone ride one as well, or at least know how to pull it up into a wheelie?

lift the front wheel in the air i think thats how its done. u have to do something with the gas peddal or something im not sure if bikes have gas peddals or a thumb thing.

10-15mph rev up 4 or 5k dump and stay on throttle
if it doesn't come up rev higher.. keep foot on brake and try in empty parkin lot

How long have you been riding? You should really perfect riding before you start doing wheelies.

Re: How to wheelie on a Katana 600

i tried 2nd gear standups on my friend 03 kat....it doesn't come up very high....the only wheelie i could get descent is 1st gear sitting down...go about 10 mph, pull the clutch in, rev to about 7000 and drop the clutch....when you practice don't rev too high....get the feel of the rpm and speed....good luck but IMHO it's a waste of clutch since the bike it too heavy

Re: How to wheelie on a Katana 600

you'll probably need to get a sprocket change for that big tank

You're not in the bicycle section, you're in the how to wheelie section giving advice on how to wheelie when you've never even ridden a high power and dangerous sport bike

I'd like to know how you could possibly know what you're doing, I could give you my 954 and I would bet all my money you'd either drop it trying to get it out of the parking space or pull a 6 inch wheelie.

I was fixing my 954 and putting a new shift lever on it when Doodle12345 said to do a wheelie on my 200 and take some video, I propped the camera up on my brothers car set the timer and did one. The reason I got so close to the house is becaue I wanted the wheelie to be visible. I would have ran into it had I kept the wheelie up longer. I don't need a 954 to pull a wheelie as you already have evidence of this, and the countless 1st gear wheelies I did on my 600.

If you want to have conversations like this, PM eachother, stop cluttering perfectly good threads, I'm getting sick of Mr 17 getting mad at mr. 15.

you tell em' Mr.16 MR.15 and Mr.17

anyways, my first bike was a katana and i went 4 teeth bigger with rear sprocket. i had to rev. mine up to about 6000rps and drop the clutch in first gear to get it up , then i could ride it through 2nd and it would come back down when i tried to go to 3rd. theyre just too damn heavy and not enough power for wheelies. balance point is too high, as soon as you hit it, youre probably going to backflip it like i did (so many times) transmissions arent made for it either. only good thing they have going for them is you could probably use that pointy taillight for a 12 bar just be careful trying to wheelie the KAT
