Using a z1000 triple clamp on a 636?
I recently found out that a lot of the z1000 guys are using the 636 forks on their bikes. I'd like to switch this around and mount a z1000 triple clamp on my bike because it has the mounts on top for a 7/8 bar. Does anyone know if it will fit properly over the lower triple clamp shaft?

you need to find out if they are swapping front ends(triples, forks,....) or if they are just sliding forks in......if they are sliding forks in you still might not be able to just put the top triple on. Now you gotta find out if the upper and lower triples match....the distance from the stem to the forks needs to be the same as well as the angle they sit at. If both front ends use the same diameter upper and lower clamp openings to fit the forks your best bet is to get the upper and lower triple with steering stem then put your 636 forks in them. 9/10 times with most bikes, the upper triple for Bike A isn't gonna match up well with the lower triple on Bike B.
