06 Gsxr-600

I just bought a new gsxr 600 for my wife, and she failed her liscence test so now im riding it for the time being and im trying to learn wheelies and stoppies its all stock and im a super noob when it comes to bikes riding for a month now. my question is how come i cant clutch up second? cause your a noob and you **** at life isnt a good enough answer for me. first gear i can clutch up but it comes up really quick or i start spinning my tires. i know i have to learn the fast **** before the slow stuff so what speed, riding position, and what should i be reving? ill go about 25-40 (tried everything in between) pull in clutch quick while i snapp the throttle and nothing then ill just pull in clutch take my time rev to 10k and let go it might get up 2 inches but nothing after that. 1st gear @ 15 mph scares me i dont want to loop it just yet its still a good looking bike

now stoppies i cant get them to roll i can get it up some times barely i just want to know some basics what speed to initiate and riding position for a noob like myself

use a lil more body english, play around with letting the clutch in and out faster or slower. do stand ups

1st gear @ 15 mph scares me i dont want to loop it just yet its still a good looking bike
start off at 15-25 mph, clutch the bike up from first and get the front end up to about 1 foot off the ground.

now hold the throttle steady.....you'll find the wheelie slowly drops down.

pracitce getting a wheelie up to 1 or 2 feet up, and hold it there SMOOTHLY. don't chop the throttle, be SMOOTH on it. don't even worry about balance point and KEEP YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AT ALL TIMES.

once you can ride a power wheelie SMOOTH as hell, you can bring the wheel up a lil higher each time you clutch it up, and you'll be rockin mile long stand-ups after some practice.

It will be some time b4 they make cages for that bike. If people ever do! The new bikes are horrible for stunting! I wouldn’t mess around with first gear slow stuff with that bike if I were you. Get something else to practice with but 2nd gear should come right up with body English and a little clutch. Clutching is a technique that takes time to learn if you don’t know what you’re doing. Slip the clutch and THROTTLE! - remember to keep that foot over the brake!

Re: 06 Gsxr-600

theres a lot of rders in this state you just have to find them, get out and network.

Id get up to 40mph in 2nd then pull in clutch with index+middle fingers, cover the rear brake, get a good central balance on the bike and rev up to 8-9k ? ((i never look i just go by sound of engine) you might want to start lower for practicing and work your way up) then let your clutch go and as soon as you feel the front end lift off the ground start to roll back off the throttle. and do that till you get high enough and feel comfortable to hold the throttle

Re: 06 Gsxr-600

i also just got a 06 gsxr 600 last week and i can ride out a stand up wheelie in first but i definitely have to use the clutch. I just go about 11 miles an hour and clutch up to about 9000 rpm's or maybe a little higher. clutching it feels like i have alot more control of the bike and i also keep my foot over the rear brake. But it takes practice and just go with what rpm feels right.

Re: 06 Gsxr-600

how slowly are you releasing the clutch?
it must be a quick evolution.
are you staying on the throttle or do you let off it as soon as it starts to come up?
