Getting 03 636 up on one wheel

No this isn't one of those newbie threads "How do I wheelie". I know how to wheelie, I have a 929 and can do stand ups for miles and now i bought a 636 and can clutch it up easily in first and second but can't do a stand up worth a sh*t (just by bouncing on it and using throttle) I think it may be because the stance on this bike is so much more weight on the triple trees so when i stand up alot of the weight is on the forks. It seems like it is so much harder to do a stand up on this bike. Right now the bike is all stock, but I ordered a larger sprocket. Is there anything else (Maybe suspension or something) to get this thing to do stand ups easier? The power is there, just the wrong posistion or something. I live for doing stand ups and am dissapointed this bike is making them so difficult. I usually can wheelie anything. Any help or advice would be awesome.

Thats what i thought. I dunno why but it just doesn't want to come up. I will have to just figure it out i guess.

If you can clutch it up in first and second why are you trying to power it up for a stand-up?

Do you have brake control?

I knew that was coming. Thats the farthest from the truth. I think i am just used to the 929. I am not a parking lot rider at all, just the freeways. I can clutch them up in second when im sitting but I can't clutch them up when im standing very well. I guess I should just learn to do that. But whatever, I guess I just shouldn't have asked, I just thought maybe somebody had the same prob when they switched from a liter bike to a sixer. Thanks

if you have no problems with sitdowns.. start with a sitdown and just stand up.

Thanks, Well I have only ridden the bike probably 10 miles since I just picked it up last week and the whether here is just getting decent. I will just ride the shi* out of it and get used to it, im sure it will come to me. Thanks.

I went from a 929 to a 636. It took me less than a minute to get used to the 636.

I claimed i could wheelie my 929 for that long, which i could, I don't understand why you have a forum to ask for advice when everybody just flames the hell out of you for asking. I can't explain it, I just have not gotten used to the bike. Whatever.

If you haven't learned by now... your problem is rhythm. To do a pow-pow standup, you have to know when to blip the gas and bounce the bike at the same time. Even if you are doing clutch wheelies, it all has a rhythm. Very few people out there don't bounce their bike at all... my friend Joe is one of them. But the whole concept behind bouncing is taking the weight off the front forks. So if you are going to power whoolie your 636, then learn how to bounce the bike, blip the gas hard, and roll the bike up. If you clutch it up, then learn to bounce, clutch, and gas it all in one fluid motion.
