I understand the possible combinations -- I'm not asking how to ride a standup --The question I have is what is a good handbrake kit and how useful do you find them? Thanks again for you're help

Re: rear handbrake
as much as they are being a$$holes about saying it, you dont need a handbreak. you will just end up hurting yourself with the false sense of security. learn rear break control staggared first like everyone else (left foot on rear peg, right on front peg)....

you should check yourself once in awhile...
not everyone knows how to stunt and being a **** isnt gonna make them learn any faster.
gaurantee only reason you learn is cause someone taught you.. most likey not by being a jerk also..

handbrakes are almost a nessecity if saftey is a huge issue to you while learning.
but there is a lot you can learn without one, and in fact i recommend that while learning dont bother with a handbrake as its just another lever to learn before you've fully learned the OEM equipment. focus on learning the foot brake or better yet focus on learning engine brake and the basics of how to wheelie first.
good luck

Re: rear handbrake
learn foot break first, your bike has it and u will need to learn it at one stage and there is no time like the present.
when u have that on lock u can try a hand break....
but i must say me and my mate where both having trouble using the foot break when we where learning and we got hand breaks and found them alot easier to use. everyone is diffrent

Re: rear handbrake
Question: How do you wheelie?
Answer: Go buy a 50.
is like:
Question: How do you snowboard?
Answer: Go buy a sled.
"I can't find the foot brake so I want a handbrake"
That's Practice more.
