You have to be comfortable with bp and rear brake first. Do a staggered standup with some some speed, like 25-35mph is first gear, and just start dipping it back past bp and recovering with the brake. Don't even try to scrape at first, just learn to go from fast to slow. Eventually you will be able to dip it back far enough and tap the tail. Once you get comfortable with tapping it over and over, you can try pulling in the clutch once it hits and dragging it out.
You shouldn't ever put your feet down....... That's the last thing you want to do and a bad habit to form. Idle should be around 1.2-1.5k so you have plenty of engine brake to use in conjunction with rear brake. 3k idle is a crutch for poor throttle control and if you have poor throttle control, you should forget 12's and keep working on standups til it's good.

Im learning to 12 too, I just put a cage on my bike and a 12 bar, basically saying **** it and im gonna just keep trying to hit the bp and go back from there....I think its mostly mental and once I start to hit the bar I will be fine...

hey they don't call me crash master for no reason. looped it all the time before i put a 12 bar on now i just bring it back if i go to far i just hop off and pull in the clutch to stop the bike from rolling kill it and start over. it just takes hella pratice but don't be affaid to wreck your bike if you are you in the wrong sport.

just make sure you get a good bar on the first bar i put on my f4i was crap i hit it a few times then the next time i hit it it bent all most straight up. it was ******* funny but something you should watch out for.

no i was hitting my bar all the time until i cut it shorter... it would not really catch idle good til i made it hella short, now i got to go pretty far back to scrape. thats the way i like it

YOUR SAFEST WAY TO LEARN IS SITTING WITHOUT A BAR, ONCE YOU KILL A FEW TAILS THEN TRY A BAR.SEE, THE TAIL GIVES AND FORGIVES. A BAR DOSENT. A BAR IS FOR BAR TRICKS NOT FOR TOUCHIN AND TAPPIN. IT COULD THROW YOU OFF QUICK. ONCE YOU LEARN THE TAIL REAL GOOD YOU WILL BE FINE W/ A BAR.

Hey, theres 1 way to find out...
just pull away, grab the cluth, rev the bike high then just drop the cluth...
then you will know if your bike is capable..
according to me anything with a cluth can wheelie....(therefore do stunting)....

Why don't you just spend 20 dollars and buy the advanced wheelies dvd? It doesn't get any more easier than that! Woods rocked that r6 like a madman. Damn Stock R6, 20 psi in the rear, that was it! my

LOL everyone giving advice in here sounds like they have never actually scraped 12, but instead looped to 12
Don't even worry about scraping. Don't just try to clutch it to the bar, then you just look like a retard that can't wheelie, but can clutch a bike with his feet on the ground to the bar lol
Just learn to wheelie and don't even worry about scraping. When you are good enough at wheeiles, scraping will be easy.
