if u make a "12" bar, but it sticks out about 10 inches, wouldn't that make it an "11:30 bar?" :D

Re: learn 12s the easist way???

I JUST learned how to scrape tail. Take my advise. First. your first instict will be to jump off when it scrapes. SO make sure you're caged with 905 or another good brand. I dropped it at running speed the first time i hit the tail, then afterwards, i stayed on, and i get it spot on everytime. I AM on a 900rr which is known for being incredible stable on its tail without a bar. Bar or not, it requires a smooth aproach and finness, so dont force it if you're not ready. So make sure you're upright strait when you scrape it.

An easy way to try 12s is if u already know ur balance point, Put a bar on and then get a buddy to help u put the bike on the 12 bar that way u can get on ur bike and feel what 12 oclock is really like. That is the way my buddies do it.

Did you guys turn your idles up to learn 12's? Or just learn without it and use that when you get better?

Re: learn 12s the easist way???

get a bar a bigger sprocket (70 th,or so)and a cage , turn up your idle to at least 3 and clutch it up sit downfrom a stop give itgas till you hit the point alittle more gas may be needed to get to the bar , once it hits if you feel uncomfortable just put your feet on the ground and pull in the clutch.

Re: learn 12s the easist way???

Can someone help me out with this one?

From the moment the bike passes 10 'o clock , I have that scary feeling that I'm riding in a sort of vacuum, because I start to hit the balancepoint,I think?(a lot less friction with the road?) From that moment I chop the throttle.

I raised the iddle to minimalize the chopping efect, bought myself a fiddy, nothing helps.Everytime I chop the trottle. And with the fiddy I just smack it on the scrapebar, completely uncontrolled.

Especially the continious chopping bothers me

Any more tips or just practise, practise, practise and a bigger pair of...

here's the cure.. don't chop the throttle.... that's it.. do a wheelie, dip it back into engine brake.. let off a tiny bit.. or stay on it. and apply some brake... and don't plug a hoover into your bike
