Sisters for brothers..
Welp, I love my Savage Mark II .22, as it shoots sub MOA (if I do my part) and in my opinion is a great looking fun and the price is right. So my brother(9 and a half) has always wanted a gun, and I always wanted a .17HMR.. Soooo him, my dad, and myself went out today checked out a few guns, and settled on a 93r17-f. It has bases but no scope/rings, and out the door with a brick of .22 ammo, 50 rounds of remington boattail, 'shoot-n-see' targets, and the gun itself for $210 all together.
It's a bit large for him and in all honesty it's mine, but he should have fun with it too... He can hold it up comfortably and it's lighter then the youth guns they had there, so he likes it a lot.
Question for you LEFTYS, is it a pain to deal with a right handed bolt gun? My little brother happens to be a lefty..

its most likely going to be a bit of a pain for him to get used to at first but im sure once he shoots it for a bit hell get a lil used to it. a ways down the road i would just invest in a decent offhanded rifle for him if he gets serious about shooting.

My brother however shot well. He fired the 17 a bit, but I let him play with my .22 as well. He was pretty impressive, because he started at the 100 (too many hicks on the 25 and 50) and kept it on the paper.. I mean the 16x16 sheet, but still, first time for a 9 year old, I was pretty happy.
