That's why skard4life do what they want when they want and just ride for fun. Do a show don't do a show it don't matter. After today's fun at Santa pod I'm impressed with the uk stunt scene and never seen it so good.

Re: Anyone wona do a show??

lets face it, im ****, i still cant even hold a decent wheelie, but all this talk about undercutting prices, sorry, but thats just buisness, thats how it works, all this stuff about taking peoples bikes away, sorry but thats just stupid
im a builder, does that mean that if someone quotes a job cheaper than mine im allowed to steal his tools and van ????
yes, i will admit, that in my line of work i get to work closely with the customer and get a repour, so that does allmost allways make my customers come back as they get to know me on a personal level, and maybe in the stunt sceene of doing shows, that doesnt come across as much, but from what im hearing here, about free shows, and undercutting etc, if converted into my line of work, i could argue that a free show, is the same as any of you guys offering to do some diy as a favour to a mate, or undercutting someone else is the same as someone putting in a slightly lower quote than me to try and get a job ive priced, im sorry but this is the way the world works
yes, its is a bitch, especially if someone is trying to steal a regular show you do, and if i were in the same situation i prob would be pissed off, but i would still understand that this is how things work these days, and would then try to do my best to prove i am the best and worth the money they would be paying
i can understand the free show totally, and why it pisses people off, as it is a complete pain in the ****, but if u are trying to start out and you cant get a break, what do you do? i would put money that if the tables were turned, and anyone on here could do a show for free, knowing it would then bring on regular work which was well paid, they would do it in a heartbeat
look at the comps for an example, i go for the ***** and giggles, but eveyone here pays to enter, and we all hope to get a bit of attention out of it, and hope to make a few quid if we do manage to win the stoppie contest, or the last man standing, or the freestyle etc, yea, its more prob more fun than a show as we all camp out and have a giggle, but its the same princaple
If you love to stunt, then great, do it, its a way of life, like i said, im **** but i still love it, and i will continue to do so untill i find i cant do it any longer.
but remember why you started, because you wanted the thrill and the fun, if yoy can make some cash, great, do it, but dont hate others that try, try and remember why you love it so much
thats my oppinion anyway

I like your analogy, however it is flawed. Lets say someone started going to your regular customers and doesn't know them, then offers to do the jobs for free. How would that situation affect you ?

p.s I agree with the undercutting statement you made it is part of the business world, however the stunt scene tends to not follow the business world exactly due to the "friendships" and community.

Like i said, it would **** me of, but i would accept it happens, i have been to look at jobs, and then found out at a later date that a friend has offered to do it for fre as a favour etc, which takes money out of my pocket, but i have allways accepted that that is the way the world works, that is the risk you take when you work for yourself.

and as for the "friendship" side of the stunt world, i agree that you are right in the sence that it does not follow the business world completely, but weather it follows it in a conventional way or not, if you are making monmey out of something, it is a business, and the basic rulles of business will always be running below the surface

dont get me wrong, i can see why people get pissed off, people have a right to be, like i said, i get pissed off also, but i just think all this talk about taking bikes etc is a bit stupid, and taking things a bit to far

Re: Anyone wona do a show??

being competitive with prices is part of any buisness, but agreeing to do a show for free that someone else was already meant to be doing thats well out of order and deserves a slap..

Re: Anyone wona do a show??

All I know is Joe did a free show once for us as a favour at my kids school fete, that helped raise £1200 for the school which went to help give the kids a nicer playground. Anyone that wants to have a go at taking his bike are welcome, cos I'll take the ****** straight back again!!!!
