The top of the cage might need to stick out more if you dont want it rolling onto the tank

Re: R6 2002 custome cage, tank dent

I did think that the bike might roll on its tank and so we brought the top bend further out and also i wil have sliders going at the end of the mounts so they wil stick out further.
The cage is high up as it is only 3" away from my knee when im sitting on the bike, also i droped the Bike in the garage to test it and see if it rolls but i did not budge, I guess i wil have to wait and see what happens when i drope it at 15 mph..

Here are some more Pics:

Re: R6 2002 custome cage, tank dent

looks good mate ,with the sliders it may help to stop it goin onto tank ,the only thing im thinkin is the 3mm cross supports may tweak/twist especially if it hits hard on the bar going near to leg,id have probly just notched some tube to go in there ,and probly gussets to just too make sure ,but im overkill usually ,just think its better to go more than less, but it may be fine ,hard to say really, like you said ,just have to test it out and go from there

I will just have to see!!! it looks alot heavier than it actually is but as i have removed some parts off the bike it may work a little bit heavier than the standard...

Re: R6 2002 custome cage, tank dent

It looks like Mad Max's bike now...

Just kidding dude, looks good and it's always cool to see someone making their own parts like stunt riders used to before all the companies that are available for parts now.

What kind of pipe did you use? Looks like a lot of it and aweful thin. Your upper mount is only a fairing spot. Hope it holds up for ya.
