Re: little help please

wait wait wait if it is installed from the factory then you should be able to bring your vin # and title to the dealer and order a new key .....

works for cars that have that system here in the states

Re: little help please

Working at Yamaha, the ECU, chipped keys and ****.

You get given THREE keys when you get the bike, two normal keys, and a RED key.

You can use the RED one to program the two other keys, but if you **** it up it has a 24 hour time lapse on it.

If the missus lost the red key.

It's new ignition, ECU, and immob unit.

Not much ******* fun and about £1000 for parts.

Re: little help please

race modded ecu can be had for around £450 or you will need a s/h ecu and ign switch from ebay not cheap though, if i were you i mould tip up pad upside down looking for it. you could also try mss discovery kawasaki they might have old road going units on the shelf.

Re: little help please

nah the HISS system is a HONDA system
every manufacturer has got his own security set up.
any way option one, i would try what OMR said just for the sake of giving it a try (put a friend's ignition on) some bike got immobilisers just on a ring on the ignition, ducaties extend the immobiliser to the clocks, ecu...
if it doesn't work, there's a complete set ignition, wiring loom, ignition + keys on ebay goin for like 350

also post your problem on www.mcnninjas.co.uk

after marcket ECU is another option but expensive (bought one for my old ducati 500quid from australia)

bottom line is some immobilisers can be baypassed as well

but wait see GHOSTIE what he says, m sure he's got options

ring your dealer they will know what to do and be prepared for a kick in the bollocks ,, but also ring a auto lock smith they have codes on there computers and can make you a key with the right chip inside

yeh it's a bit different for bikes u c.
if birdie has got the service book for the bike it should have the key # on the front with that the dealer can order a key for it the they will reprogram it for him (birdie needs to ring a dealer for a quote)
alternatively take the ignition to a locksmith and have a key cut (my local one charges me £15) then take th ebike to th enearest dealer to get it reprogrammed

Re: little help please

Birdie - I asked this question last summer when my mate lost his key for his A1h, eventually he got a new one cut off the code on the barrel for £120.

Interestingly a guy from the states contacted me and told me their is a button under the barrel which will start the bike, you have to pull the buttom off the barrel to get to it, apparently.

Good luck
