first aid for bikers
following the sobering thread from joe87, though i may mention this
there is a bike specific first aid course called F.B.O.S (first bike on sceene)
i have done this course with another group of bikers and i have to say it is very worth while
teach you when you should and how to move someone, and even more importantly, how to safely remove someones crash helmet if needed
is a very worthwhile course, i just hope i never have to use what i learned there
im sure there is info on the net about it somewhere, ill try to find it and put a link up if anyone is interested

Re: first aid for bikers
i agree mate i have done this course around two years ago , it is well worth doing as some of the pics they show you from accident scenes really make you realise how important it is to have some one there that knows what they are doing. they had one where you think the guy died from injury's but actully he swolled his tounge and suffercated and there were 4 first aiders on scene , he aparantly would of survived his injury's.
i will defo update my course next year.

Re: first aid for bikers
Really great idea, especially for spotters at stunt practice spots, you just never know when it might be needed.
Most of the Crew for Straightliners are now first aiders so there's no longer just paramedics on site, would like to have done it myself when they did but don't live in the same area of the country.
