Santa Pod Photos... better late than never

Long overdue I know but hello to everyone I met at Santa Pod back in September.
I was the "other" photographer with PhotoAdam
I didn't realy get the chance to talk with many of you as I was too busy shooting you guys. As a biker who tries to keep both wheels on the ground I have the utmost respect for what you guys can do on two wheels... or should that be one wheel...

I was going to edit down the photos but just don't have the time at the moment so I have uploaded everything from the day including a fetching portrait of the well respected judge on the day

Hope you enjoy them.

I've even seen him go to the far end of the concrete pan at Elvington to stunt in private

Anyway top pics and £25 well spent if you ask me!

Re: Santa Pod Photos... better late than never

Glad you guys like the photos

I've shot plenty of bike related stuff but it's only the second time I have shot any stunting. The first time was at Brands when SFD put on a lunchtime display, which in fact was way more entertaining than the scheduled car racing.

I'm quickly learning to anticipate the different moves with some helpful pointers from PhotoAdam.

Your works very good mate, you seem to be able to capture the right moment which i know can be hard with those guys.

It was a bit busy that day, but i would like to see if you could capture some panned shots with a slightly slower exposure, try and isolate the subject a bit amongst all the other distractions. like they do with the rally

Well spotted, a slower shutter and wider f-stop would certainly create some more "arty" shots. Coming from the commercial photography world I am addicted to the holy grail of everything being tack sharp.

The backdrop at the Pod leaves a lot to be desired, very messy looking, so panning it away to a blur would look good.

Re: Santa Pod Photos... better late than never

Ant, you got me thinking about distracting backgrounds and the fact that I have no REAL work to do today so I got busy in photoshop.......

How about a nice poster for your bedroom wall Billy?

Re: Santa Pod Photos... better late than never

Yep!

motorbikes are very busy as is, especially stuntbikes with their battle scars, it makes a massive difference removing distractions from the backgrounds hey!
