cant believe it, after having my insurance run out i thought it was finally time to renew it
so contacted my current company, motorcycle direct, and gave them the details,
first off, the woman on teh other end of the phone didnt have a clue about bikes, and its doubtfull she even knew how to use her system properly,
anyway, last year, for a K1 GSXR 1000, and a fairly heavily modified 99 fireblade, i got for about £300 (give or take a few quid), this year, for a standard 98 blade, and a 2002 zx6r, they tried quoting £369, how the hell does the price go up when its a smaller bike and non modified ????

well basically told her it was never gonna happen, but have been told to call back tomorrow as she is sure she can get a discount on it

so following on from the other insurance topic, who is insured with which company ? and how do you rate them ???

 

Dont have insurance, i just run. I just make sure i'm faster then the cops....

only spoke to em once so cant comment on the service. but i dont get pulled up for no insurance on the police system, like i do with my car :S

 

maybe because you have 2 bike on the policy?

Prices do change every year. You could end up paying more one year than last for having the exact same bikes with more ncb.

They try and blame it on people crashing and not having insurance.

 

cia are even worse, was with them a few years back but left after they became a few hundred more than other places, i even called em today and they were worse than MD

well i phoned up Motorcycle Direct again today like they said i should, and was told that they could get it down to £266, but was very firmly told that all i would get ontop of fully comp was rider policy for any other bike and protected no claims, no legal cover or anything else

for the sake of an hour on the phone and a few free phone numbers thought i might as well try a few other places, most quotes came in at the £450 mark,
then tried Devit,

fully comp on a 98 blade and a 2002 zx6r, rider policy, protected no claims, 90 days european cover, legal cover, only £20 admin fee to change policy if needed (is usually about £25), all for £140, so i even payed an extra £60 and got breakdown cover with greenflag which coveres me, not the vehicle, so can get help even if it aint my vehicle, and unlimited call out

all i can say is BARGAIN

congrats, i'm with motorcycle direct and will read the small print more closely next year, as i can only ride my bike. last year everything was included in the price, now you gotta pay extra and they don't tell you that
