f4i problem

only started happening today,

i have my idle set at 3000 but for some reason now when i start it (warm) it just sits at 1500--2000 and i have to give it throttle to bring it to 3000 and it stays around 3000 (although its quite erratic)

then if i put the bike in gear and go to pull away it does the same!!

basically, if the revs drop below 2000 it wont recover itself back up to 3000 unless i use the throttle!
anyone got any ideas

Re: f4i problem

have you got the dual idle mod running from the throttle bodies itself?

could be that the original idle screw has come out or wound right down as even with the second idle mod, the original one still needs to be set to around 1500rpm as per standard.. maybe a bit more for stunt use... then fine tune with the second mod.

just something worth checking.. cable may have come out or something.

Does the bike ride fine other than the idling problems?

Re: f4i problem

carbs need balancing?

No, this has no relevance to you, and is in no way helpful, but my bike did the same, although it wasnt dropping as much as yours, but i could feel it, and Ghostie balanced my carbs and it works fine now.

Helpful or what

But seriously, could be number of things.

Here i have compiled a check list for you to start with.
1.Carbs need balancing.
2.Carbs may be dirty inside (blocked jets etc)
3.Float height?
4.Right size jets???
5.carbs icing. (is it cold down there)

man, im so unfunny.

its the map sensor on the right side of your airbox, silly little thing with a breather hose and a plug going to it.
