I'm pretty sure Kyle didn't break his back. It's been a while. That bike belonged to Brock, a member of Triple Xtreme. The clutch cable snapped and Kyle got his head smashed. I don't think he any major injuries below the neck. I'm pretty sure Brock broke his back at some point. Maybe that's where that part of the story came from.
