Where can i get gearing?

Forget that

Im going with the 62T that Billy found me, with a +1 front.

Hell I will just have to use 2nd as 1st on the roads

First I asked where i could buy a full sprocket & chain kit, but its too much hassle, so im going with that 62T Rear.

Re: Where can i get gearing?

Thats a good idea.

Pez is looking into getting lots of my gsxr mods, he's gone back to talk to his suppliers to see how quick he can get the stuff delivered.

I can get a 62T rear off a friend of a friend local, without needing to order from the USA.

But im a newbie and 62T gearing on my GSXR makes +17

So I thought, go +1 and bring it down to +14.

what do you recon?

Re: Where can i get gearing?

or you could do what i said and ring B&C Express, and have any size made up.

and get the correct chain to match, how would you sort the chain with a 62tooth rear?

Re: Where can i get gearing?

their are loads of places to buy 130 link chains, but thanks for reminding me about B&C Express.

If the 62 falls through and Pez can't get one either, i will get B&C Express on the case

Re: Where can i get gearing?

B&C Express - Quote
520 or 525 skimmed machined blank 60 tooth rear sprocket
17T Renthal front sprocket
125 link Tsubaki chain
7 to 10 days turnaround
Total: £133.31 inc p&p

Don't think you can beat that

520 or 525 ?

Re: Where can i get gearing?

stay at 525, that way you can use your 16tooth front in the future

Re: Where can i get gearing?

im not bothered about the stock 16T front.

The 520 blank doesn't need skimming, so I imagine it would be lighter than the 530 blank

But is the 520 chain too weak?

Re: Where can i get gearing?

most bikes now run a 520 chain so there shouldn't be a problem, B&C can't get that sized sprocket out of a 520 blank, so i'd be interested to know the thickness of the 62 tooth rear

Re: Where can i get gearing?

Thanks for confirming 520 is OK.

Tracey Harris at B&C said they can do 60 tooth in a 520, thats all i know.

But if they can't, 525 will be fine.

Re: Where can i get gearing?

IIRC they will do a sprocket that fits a 520 chain, but they make it out of a 530 blank, someone else might know for sure

and i'm not taking responsibility for the 520 chain, so good luck

Re: Where can i get gearing?

If their is no weight advantage, their is no point going 520.

525 it is then, thanks for clearing that up.

Re: Where can i get gearing?

there will weight saving, but i'm not rubber stamping it incase you get hurt

Hai says this

What gearing is right for me?
+5 – Provides a good place to start for anybody looking to get a little more into the stunts without sacrificing street riding or too much top speed. Will gain some torque/acceleration while losing roughly 10% of top speed.

+10 - Provides good amounts of power for slower wheelies while still having decent street riding. Will gain good torque/acceleration while losing roughly 20% of top speed.

+15 – Provides great power for technical slow wheelies. Street riding will be reduced to moderation in the city limits. No highways. Will gain great torque/acceleration while losing roughly 30% of top speed.

+20 - Provides huge power for anything and everything technical. Street riding will be reduced to just parking lots. Not for beginners. Will gain huge torque/acceleration while losing roughly 40% of top speed.

+25 or bigger – Ridiculous… but fun. Go big.

Re: Where can i get gearing?

Im interested in this Rubber Stamp package you offer.
So if i get the stamp and still get hurt what compensation do i receive?

I meant, their is a weight advantage in the chain but not in the rear sprocket.

My bike is 45 rear stock, so 60R (+15) +1F (-3) gives me +12 Total.
With the option to go -1 in the future for +18.
