broken cage
Its good news really. The cage seems to have taken such a thrashing in that crash that its ground the slidders, bend all the bolds and snapped one of the bolt hole, but left the bits it can protect undammaged :YEAH
But now it doesn't look like its strong enough to take another crash, so who recons it can be fixed?
My other theory is to chop it just bellow the bolt hole and redrill it

Re: broken cage
Cable ties on the cage, thats worse than my wooden 12 bar
OK then I will find a welder and get it sorted.
My subframe needs some alloy welding to it to make it stronger (as seen in the GSXR artical here).

Re: broken cage
Ant,
Any decent welder will make a good job of it, just remember that the weld will be the strongest part of the cage, so you're more likely to kill it next to the weld next time.
if you chop some off and re-drill you'll lose a bit of your cage each time.
don't throw your money away, find someone local, and maybe you can offer one of the lads a few quid to do it in his dinner hour
i always find a few = new best friend :YEAH
that's why i'm always skint, Birdie costs so much to keep around
