Practicing on your own?

Does every one do it? whats peoples thoughts about the advantages and obvious disadvantages? Is there certain tricks you wont try just in case...?

Re: Practicing on your own?

I do. I actually prefer practicing on my own, you have more space and don't need to worry about anyone else but you.

I learn more by myself then riding with others because by myself I've nobody to show off to!

Re: Practicing on your own?

When I find somewhere local I'll ride on my own... just get a £10 Tesco mobile phone, put some credit on it and stick it on ya bike somewhere "just incase" you bin it and need to call help (I personally won't have a £100 mobile on me when riding..... ) let someone know where ya going and if ya don't come back least someone knows where you might be laying under a bike

I get so put off by other people it's unreal, would love to ride on my own more often. But riding with other people is a big help too.. so don't rule it out :YEAH

Re: Practicing on your own?

I rarely ever get to ride with someone other than myself. I'm really the only guy in my area who actually rides. I try to get out of town to ride with other people at least once a month.
I wish I had more people to ride with becasue it definatly helps me.

Re: Practicing on your own?

I do it on my own also because the closest people to me that are with a **** is 2 hrs away it has its advantages and disadvantages 1. adv. is no one can see how bad you suck when your learning new **** and a dis. is you dont have anyone to push you other than yourself and noone to tell you what your doin right or wrong other than yourself.........

Re: Practicing on your own?

I'm gonna start goin out more on my own cos I'm jus not gettin enough down @ the wkends cos its sooo busy @ our spot, so 2 be safe I'm takin a m8 so if i do come unstuck help is nearby.. plus bonus side if you do crash there's some1 there 2 film it! hehe..
I agree it can be harder to learn stuff when there's loads of peeps arround, cos I'm learnin at mo and I end up spendin more time concentrating on whats goin on arround me than what I'm doin, esp when u've got 10yr olds on fiddie's and mini motos trying to throw themselves under ur bike whilst ur practising..argh..god give me strength!!
Plus bein a girl u can feel the eye's watchin u, waitin 4 u 2 fall off.. Once i'm better at it I prob won't give a s**t cos I won't feel like so much of a tit practising!

Re: Practicing on your own?

Its def harder to learn stuff when ya just get in each others way, if when ya ride you watch and help each other like toddy glyn and me did the other week it helps loads.
After seeing tee rexs leg a couple weeks ago ive gone right off riding on my own !!!!

Re: Practicing on your own?

I ride on my own because i have a spot quite close to me.

Anyone local on a scooter is a ****** (cept Crazyeyes)

I've paid the price for it too, i've managed to write my bike off on my own too.

Good fun =)

Much rather be with a small group of people with a big spot.

Re: Practicing on your own?

I also stunt on my own, never rolled with others cos there are none around here. But I do ride my k61k with my mates but only if there wives let em out. It's a bit boring as one of them can't ride for **** and has no *****. Wast of a Bandit 12.

Re: Practicing on your own?

I ride on my own nearly every time im out! i talk to myself and pretend there are people there, like gary hefferan and number two giving me advice on blindside RL circles and jumping to whatever.... the voices in my head keep me going...

weathers been lovely lately though oops dam did i say that!!!!!

I love riding on my own i have a stop watch and i practice stuff i need to learn, then it's a big suprise bonus when i ride with other stunters it means more a bit like being hungry and waiting for food, it tastes better the longer you wait!

Althoguh i think the best bits of riding are the group jams at events... i used to be nervous at shows but not so much now i enjoy em as my riding is much more together and it's fun when you know you can achieve whats in your mind! still sooooo much to learn. thats the beauty of this sport its never ending level and when you think you have got something down then some =one comes along and blows it all apart and raises it up... check out the vids and reviews forum and look up A-Z's finest Number Two.... The **** that guy is doin on idle is screwed up.....

my stoppies are rubbish, i want to be a high roller... my stoppies smell of dog lipstick

Stuntin on your own is dangerous, especcially if newb, squid etc not recommended, as pow pow into walls = AAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
