Squids

I always wondered why in the states the stunters called road riders squids and really gave them a hard time. Ok i know road riders dont ride like us and most of us were once squids our selves.
But when i ride with my squid mates on my road bike which is not very often they are serouisly good riders and when doing track days hold their own lap time wise (I used to race) i know not all road riders ride like that but in the uk most sports bike riders do. On track days of course not on the road. (how pc am i)
Well after going to stunt wars i now understand. When coming back and forward to lakeland we came across a few sports bike riders. What is wrong with these guys ??? On one day we caught up with about 6 sports bikes and they was holding up the cars !!!!!!! we could not believe our eyes. When we got to some traffic lights they were all doing stretches and bigging each other up !!!! wot the hell???
So my point is i dont think the UK squids deserve to be called squids. Although it does make me smile.
Did ya know one of top stunters (Glyn) is still a big road bike fan. Just proves my point really as glyn is def no squid eh.

IM speaking for myself here.. but im pretty sure that was a miss interpretation. most ppl are referring to squids as "stunters who are just starting out that think and talk above their ability level." at least in my experiances

So do all road riders over there ride that slow ? Is it because of speed traps etc. over here road riders tend to ride down the middle of the road over taking every thing !

Re: Squids

I've always known a squid to be someone who talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk..... goes for anything in life I think. I have a lot of respect for decent road riders and track dayers/racers because I can't corner for ****.

Re: Squids

Vandal you're crap
A squid has always been the muppets that do crap pow wows on overpowered bike and think it's impressive. Birdie and I ride with a squid, he says his tilt sensor on his '04 R6 stops him pulling wheelies
