Fuelling

It is as important as brake set up but hardly ever gets a mention!

I have big heavy swollen christmas bags full of stunts to show... well i would if i could get my new bike to fuel properly it's completely gutless below 3000 rpm, which means there is no idle at all!!!

And before you say it i have:

Used three different exhausts.
Changed the ECU.
Had the plugs out.
Airfilter.
Changed suspension.
Rear tire.
Sprocket.
Balanced throttle bodies (well Adam did)

NOTHING ******* WORKS!

I have been just using throttle and balance for a couple of weeks... it's ssoooo frustrating... BUT HUGE T-REX DAVE GAVE ME A POWER COMMANDER AND HOPEFULLY THE DOWN LOADED MAPS THAT SUIT MY EXHAUST WILL SAVE THE DAY WHHHOOOO HHAAA HHAA HHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Sorry i'm excited about perfect fuelling at low rpm in fact as excited about that as i was about bar-brake set up cos it's just as important...

There is lots more that i have forgotten that i have done to fiddle with settings.... It's so bad you cannot get idle in highchair... at all and when you do a basic stand up no matter what the idle setting the front just plops back to the ground, it makes riding harder... it wants to stall the whole time... if power comander dont work then **** im putting a new engine in its that bad.... PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSssssssssssssssss

Re: Fuelling

I have had a lot of similar problems with my bike and its idle/running... one time the idle was really lumpy and it just wouldn't idle smoothly.. turned out to be plugs and reg/rec! its still not perfect but its useable...

id imagine youve already tried those things so im not much help, but hope you get it sorted soon...

and please stop teasing us with all these new tricks you say you've learnt!! post a vid or shurrup about it cos I can't wait to see your next vid and every time you mention it I want to see it MORE hurry up with it :YEAH

Re: Fuelling

you have two 636's right? start switching parts one at a time till you figure out the problem .....

i would start with the pump....

Re: Fuelling

Never even thought about the pump or the rectifyer but if it was the regulator it would run badly all the way no?

I cant just swap bits from my old bike cos i gave it to Adam who is riding it himself now... really sucks as my old bike rides 100 times better than my new one...

Sorrry Sparks until i get this sorted i wont be doing any clips its a huge bummer of a prob

Re: Fuelling

When I had the main problems, it was only idle that was really affected...... but it was really noticeably lumpy and jumped all over the place. I changed the plugs which cured a lot of it but then it started again, changed the rectifier and it fixed it.

Forgot to say but this also caused starting problems, so if yours starts fine then it's prob not that.

again not helpful but worth a shot if all else fails!

Re: Fuelling

the rectifier just limmits the voltage to the battery so if it goes bad the battery wont charge ...

Re: Fuelling

battery is brand new and fine!

there is a big flat spot 0-3000 and it makesfast stuff scary, circles hard no handers almost not poss, its exactly like trying to ride an old 918 blade... gutless then suddenly loads of power, really unpredictable!

but i have tried everythin and put pipe back on old bike which was fine so it nust be something.. but i never thought of the pump and i think i have a spare somewhere actually no cos my last bikes pump was fucked so no spare but if the power commander does not work then i will def know soemthings wrong!

Roger if i use a short straight thru pipe but fuel it perfectly will i still get good linear torque as if it had a baffle?

Re: Fuelling

no ,back pressure is a must for a strong low end pull ..

and the power commander is a bad idea if there is some thing else wrong because your gonna be downloading a timming and fuel curve into a flawed set up...
