Re: Marks out of ten please

it looks good, just shorten it up. the tip of your tail is almost straight up 12 so that is way too long

Re: Marks out of ten please

Put a thin crossbar where you have the little plates. Shorter and put on another scrape plate like the ones that come with US bars

Re: Marks out of ten please

yeah like ghostie said. Might be a good idear to put clamps around the back end of the bar aswell give it more ridgity and def a wear plate on the back. But def shorten it to just past the tail.

Re: Marks out of ten please

looks good for starter

not sure if u have more but I could only see 1 bolt per side?? I'd recommend adding 1 or 2 more on each side.

but I like the extra right angle bit welded on

+1 on the length and wear plate - but I'd still be inclined to try scrape it :YEAH

Re: Marks out of ten please

Nick There is 5" of angle iron top and bottom so there is no movement up or down with out the bolts in, but Im going to put a few more in any way thanks.

How far should the plate be away from the rear light?? anyone..

Re: Marks out of ten please

When we made my 12 bar a few of us lifted the bike up into the 12 position. I sat on it and we clamped the bar in place exactly where I wanted it then just welded it up. I'll admit my bar is quite long but I'm just getting started. I used some nylon as a scrape plate if you like and its worn down nicely.

Re: Marks out of ten please

angle iron's a good idea

yeah I wouldn't worry too much about length just now as u say ur learning - but if u do make it shorter u might wanna make sure u can still stick a toe or 2 or the gap between the bar and tail section

Re: Marks out of ten please

that is a weak bar...sorry man but i have a short bar like that just for standing in and its fine for that but once i scrape it my subframe bends immediately...and my frame is steel tubing....i think aly wil crack...i had a longer bar wich was mounted all allong the subframe all the way upto the main frame...that never bent...and i scraped it all the time and crashed it plenty

i dont mean to hate or anythin, but i think itll save you allot of repairs if you strenghten it

also (youre gettin it now :P) i make my bars slightly higher than the seat/plastics...saves them when you crash...and its a bit long....right up to against he lights is more like it
