MMMMMM.....Shiney Goodness

Had someone whip me up a subcage (OMR style) and it looks bloody awesome, can't wait till it gets here, I'll finally have rear pegs again!!!!

If anybody wants one, he can make them as long as he has a bike near to hand.

Re: MMMMMM.....Shiney Goodness

notice how thick the peg mount is...

it hits the ground when the peg folds up so it needs to be thick or it will bend the first time you drop it and that will make your peg fit tight and may not fold the next time you drop it and if it doesn't fold it breaks

and i think you have the peg mount turned on it's axis toooooo much

you need it so it wont fold up during wheelies but it has to be able to fold up when it hits the ground..

Re: MMMMMM.....Shiney Goodness

oh and make sure the cage fits snug because if there is a big gap between the cage and the subframe and you just tighten it up to make up the differance then it puts too much stress on the subframe and will eventually break ....

so if it fits loose either use washers in between the cage and subframe or bend the cage to fit snug on the subframe....

man there is alot to building a subcage isn't there...lol

Re: MMMMMM.....Shiney Goodness

lol, yeah I am now the first in the uk to own an OMR style/duplicate subcage. Woooo!

Yeah it sounds like there could still be some bugs to work out, but I'll see how it goes. I said to him I'd need the pegs rotated a bit, but I wasn't sure so I let him go at it, hopefully they won't bend too much, but if it does start to get warped I'm sure I could get somewhere to make up a thicker one.

I'll post more pics when it arrives as that's all I have for now, but I can't wait now. Gonna be fun.

EDIT: Cheers for the fitting tip Roger, I've got enough stuff on my fix list to have to add a subframe to it as well!

Re: MMMMMM.....Shiney Goodness

hahaha , yea the thoughts came to me in spurts...

so i posted in spurts....lol

i think your biggest problem will be that the pegs won't fold up when you crash at the angle they are at...they will just snap off...

Re: MMMMMM.....Shiney Goodness

glyn you wouldn't beleive the better feel of a peg that doesn't flex at all,it give you such confidence ....

i jump from sit down to ralph louie and the peg doesn't even budge

i also do a knack knac circle to the right and jump to a ralph louie with no fear of slipping off the peg, yoo should get this guy to build you one because like i said before i think it would probably be cheaper for you guys to get them made local ...

Re: MMMMMM.....Shiney Goodness

Its not Danny who makes them, but the guy can only make you one if he has your bike with him or one of the same model.

It cost me £35 shipped but that was because it was the first model and I'm crash testing it. I think the final versions will be a bit more.

Sparks: Yeah the Renthals are nice, they were drilled off centre (Blame Dave) so are a LITTLE off, but they make stuff nicer. I can get good no throttle hand now and I got 3 circles the other day.

Wish I could have made enfield but I had work. And now my bike's getting work for MOT so I probably won't see it for a little while.

Roger: What hoodie you mean? I'm sure I could get you one if you ever came over here. Or maybe give it to Billy as he's going over there aint he?
