Posting up vids

hey all,

Just wonder how you guys get vids up on you tube,

i've got a mini dv camcorder, with a usb docking station so it shouldbe easy, but i've lost the docking station

Just wondering how you all get your vids ono your computers, is there a simple way to do it?

Re: Posting up vids

Mini dv is annoying, because you have to physically record the tape onto the pc.

A dvd cam is a lot easier, but you can still use mini dv if you have a firewire port. Basically all you need to do it get a cable that runs from your cam to either a usb (like you had) or into a firewire port. Then open something like windows movie maker, click on 'capture video' then select your camera and follow the isntructions.

Make sure to have the camera set to play mode rather than record, otherwise you will just record over what you've already recorded.

One you've done that and have the file saved as a wmv (you have to do this is movie maker by clicking 'save movie file') log onto you tube and click 'upload video' and follow the instructions.

Hope that helps.
