Help scraping 12bar

Re: Help scraping 12bar
The best advice i can give is to be smooth, clutch it up for almost a stop and go for the bar first time it comes back. if you miss then drop it down and start again, if you keep trying in one wheelie you'll be going way to fast.
keep your body weight to the back and dont be scared to much of it, if you do it slow enough then just pull the clutch in if you park it on the bar.
It's all practice and time on the bike. keep at it matey and i'll look forward to next time i'm now, and i'll help out as much as i can
but i might laugh when you crash, oh and i might take a pic of it

Re: Help scraping 12bar
go like 15-20 mph, then let off the brake and give it a small amount of gas, once you hear the bar touch TAP the brake. If you do it going less than 15mph your first try,you will most likely crash

Cheers Lads sounds good, I dont cover the clutch !! eeek
better train myself to do that
and aint got the hang of the bar break yet, I should do though as footbreak is covered in oil due to crack in engine

Re: Help scraping 12bar
I'd go foot in bar mate. I hated it at first, but after people advised me on doing it I gave it a go. Now I sear by it, you get a really good feel of how far back you are because you're standing up normally when the bike is about to scrap.

Re: Help scraping 12bar
bolt it to the 12 bar mate. use 1 of the bolts that holds to the subframe then drill another. you will 12 then. i wouldn't go try scrape foot in the bar thow just my advice thow. it can go pair shapped pretty easy and the thought of my foot in the bar as it does sounds nasty to me.

Re: Help scraping 12bar
The worst bit I found was that it was pretty twitchy, but you get over it pretty quickly.
Oh and make sure you leave enough room for your foot when you chop your tail, you don't want it stuck in there if you have an off.

Re: Help scraping 12bar
although you prob know this allready see if you can spend time with Nick he is very good at scraping and smooth with it, like billy said straighten your leg out a bit more, and try it power onto the bar then keep a bit of pressure on the brake and close off the power. You are going to have to be very carefull though as you aint got a cage. But dont feel like an idiot if you do drop it think we near enough all did when we first tryed. And DO NOT PANIC AND LET GO ITS SIMPLE UP TO BP E.I GET THE FORKS LEVEL GIVE IT A BIT MORE GAS ONTO THE BAR NOT GOING TOO FAST THEN WHEN YOUR HEAR THAT NOISE JUST SHUT OFF AND COME DOWN NICE AND SMOOTH SO GIVE IT A BIT MORE GAS ON THE WAY DOWN TO SMOOTH IT OUT. Good luck tim see ya soon hopefully matey.

Re: Help scraping 12bar
i scrapd the fireblade exactly one year ago this month...
best to park it first
wait for your gearing (big back sprock = imediate lift and lots of eng brake)
as Lee said practice at **** all speed and clutch it straight up and over bp.... you will go up push the brake and slam back down... ultimatley you will leave the braking later and later then you will **** yourself as the bike goes back to far to save on the brake and you will jump off the back whilst trying to wrestle your bike like a giant unweildy snake....... rest her down and jump for joy as you enter the elite club of tail scrapping hooligans HURRAH
