Handbrakes
Looking for a place to buy a handbrake and since Fullthrottle's shop is down atm, I've found another place.
http://www.spyderracing.com/Suzuki-R...22-001-suz.htm
Doesn't look too bad for the money. Comes to about £170 when you select USP express, which I thought was pretty good.
Anyone used these guys before? Oh and how much tax would customs whack on when it arrives over here?
Much obliged. :YEAH

Re: Handbrakes
The problem with those kits I think is the lever they use the cylinder is built into it so makes fitting a clutch over it a pain in the **** as far as I know!
I just bought my kit from HAI bike shop in orlando, www.haibikeshop.com.. I got the line kit with the brake adaptor and I bought a 05 636 master cylinder, much better quality and should fit the clutch over it easier.
It cost me $178 from HAI including shipping but I also bought a moose easy pull clutch lever.. thats £95.76 delivered (but might have some customs charges dont know yet) and £45 for the master cylinder.
So a decent HB kit + an easy pull clutch lever all for less than £150 :YEAH

Re: Handbrakes
Did you get the cyliner from Hai too? I can't see any. And I'm not sure if a GSXR one (closest thing to an SV on their stocklist) will fit on an SV.
EDIT: Just found this http://www.haibikeshop.com/store/ind...aster+cylinder
Got this shizzle so far http://www.haibikeshop.com/store/ind...=shopping_cart

Re: Handbrakes
That's the handbrake kit I ordered (but for my bike not that exact one)
They don't sell the master no you need to buy one, try ebay. 01/02 Yamaha R6 one is meant to be pretty good for cheap.. but if you ahve more money get a Brembro 16mm or something from a bike with radial brakes like a 05 onwards R1/R6 or an 05 onwards 636 etc.

Re: Handbrakes
Sparks, sorry to seem a bit thich here, but you're saying the only prob with the Spyder kit is that you can't fit an aftermarket clutch lever into it?
If that's the case I might just chop Mine down.
Cheers for the info buddy.

Re: Handbrakes
Right sorry to drag this up again, but now I realise I've been being stupid.
I've found an adapter from ebay, so all I need to buy is the front master and brake line, so can anyone recommend a decent master? I've been looking at the 636 one like Sparks said, but there don't seem to be many on fleabay atm.

Re: Handbrakes
Cheers Mungo, I'll have to get a brake line ordered from Hai then.
Even though the system is going on a gixer, I'd need the Kawasaki brake line because of the cylinder right? (Hai have a different option for Kawasaki than Suz/Yam/Hon)

Re: Handbrakes
ok, here is the run down......
get a radial front master ie 04 r1 or 04 gsxr600 or 1000rr then get yourself a hb adaptor from hai, i think they are $40 and buy your brakeline fram a bikeshop, any good bikeshop will stock make-a-line kits so you can do it to mesure and u dont need to pay stupid postage
hope this helps
