Stepping up my game....

I've been riding really crap lately since a run in with the police etc.. haven't ridden properly for a few weeks so I decided to step things up a little today I learnt a new trick and I got some wheelies to about 10mph (will get vid tomorow hopefully!) Was fun today.. police van turned up again too!! But luckily I'd stopped and was chatting to my mate at the time so he couldn't do owt!

Not yet, want to get one though.. trying to roll 3rd gear 60mph and the rear end swings round rather scarily. usually stick to 2nd/3rd gear aobut 40ish at the minute... think i can get about 30ft maybe more depending on surface, done about 50-60ft down a hill by me thats just been resurfaced, pretty steep hill + fresh tarmac is cool :YEAH im by no means good but getting better at them.. cant roll them 1 handed for long though, only about 10ft or so.. first day of trying them tho.

Yeh, I know what you mean, my stoppies use to swing to the right, I've figured out how to balance them, but do get the odd one swinging out! absolute nightmare! Try the antiskid surfacing on the approach to roundabouts, that grips very very well! I've yet to build up the courage to try a one hander!!!

Re: Stepping up my game....

I think with one handers you just gotta go for it, I got it spot on 2nd time I tried it and I only started rolling stoppies last weekend. (before I could only do em' up to a stop) its just about confidence i think.

How do you stop the rear coming round? its helped when i lock my arms more and look ahead but sometimes it still swings out.

I'm trying to turn it 90 or 180 degrees to, but further i got so far is about 20* to the left, will keep practicing though.

Re: Stepping up my game....

Havent tried locking my arms, I do know that I try to look ahead of me when rolling out, it's quite amusing when I get it wrong at traffic lights and end up facing the pavement cos i've swung round so much. Jon told me to give the bike a bit of compression just before yanking the front brake, helps with rolling them out longer, I think? Are you up the Ace tomorow?

Re: Stepping up my game....

Quick tips lower the air in your front tire I run 18 to 20 psi. The reason why u r swinging side to side is your not gettin it up high enough fast enough. You need to get straight up fast like a 12. Get it to the point were you barely use the front brake just light pressure. The best way to do it is at that point were u go oh sh*& that's where you need to be. Locking your arms wont stop the bike. Once you get the nice high floaters you shift your weight slightly side to side. More shoulders then anything. The body movements are similar to a 12 just less dramatic. Get ready to fall if you want to roll the long ones you need to push and you will go to far.

If your not fallin your not tryin hard enough. It's true and the truth hurts

good luck man your lookin good though. Twelves are close Change the sprocket and you will be there any day.

Hmm, now you mention it, a GPR damper would do the job perfectly.

You lost those, too?

You've nothing to stick them on anyway. You can't possibly have a bike that's not completely black, surely?

In all seriousness, it probably wouldn't be a good idea until after it's been photographed. No point pissing someone off who's about to feature your bike.
