Re: yamaha 350 raptor
i have an 04 350 raptor.. I like it fine. It stunts just as well if not better than any other quad ive ridden. I dont give a **** about going 80 mph right now, so its plenty for me. All in what you are use to i guess.
I have rode a few older warriors too. They were ok too (although everyone here who DOESN'T own one says they suck, tear up, etc. )A friedn of mine has like a 93 warrior that just keeps ticking, so dunno...Cant compare it to a NEWER warrior, cuz I've never rode one.
Yamaha says they are pretty much the same. Raptor has Different tires, pegs, bodywork, different carb, seat feels like it sits higher, different exhaust , just little things
seems a little tipsier than the older warrior Ive ridden(but seems easier to get up on two wheels <side>)
I like mine. the bad points though 1.)Not as much low end grunt as my buddies 400ex (until i went down one on the front sprocket)...but like everything else, when it comes to stunting, racing,etc..A LOT is in the rider. 2.)weak *** drag bar/ fender mount brackets on the back (brackets broke off, and bar bends every time i loop <which is daily>) makes it hard to stand on too, the way the plastic is made.3.) kinda a bitch to change from reverse to forward and forward to reverse with the shifter (although you can go to R from ANY GEAR 1-6th)
If you can get one cheap, go for it..IF i were buying new, for the money/reliability/build quality i would probably have gotten a 400ex , but i like the reverse, so go figure...
hope this helps..just my
