Anyone had this problem before?
My Z400 will not run!
It only gets spark the first time you turn it over. it will not spark again until you shut the kill switch off, and re turn it on. WTF??? Does it maybee need a new control module (or whatever it is called!) or is it maybee a weak coil?? One thing i did notice was the ground for the coil was loose, must have been like that since i installed the tether kill switch. (Explains why that has not worked for a while!)
Any suggestions would be apprechiated.
thanks,
Barry

Re: Anyone had this problem before?
OK OK... no one here has a POS like me, but you must know someone who does!? I am pretty sure it is the control module, but would like to hear other peoples opinion b4 i buy parts 4 it.. One of my neighbors says it might be the timing, but that dont make sense to me..
UPDATE! It Will run if i jump start it up past like 4000 rpm????? does that mean it is the timing??? once it drops down to arond 3500 rpm it will die... and it does not run smooth, either..????

Wish I could help.....have you tried www.z400central.com ? They got some forums there that you might be able to get an answer in.
Good luck and keep us posted.

My Z was doing something like that and I would only run at higher rpm's. my problem was in the wirring harness. I found a fread wire at the rear of the bike on the left side of the sub frame the harness was ran over the subframe in between the plastic and frame causeing wear in was pretty hard to spot but I would check there.
