I threw in 3qt when it asked for 2.6qt w/filter change.

The more oil the cooler the oil will be, right? Not sure if that theory makes a difference or not.

Just wondering who runs extra oil and how much extra?

Also is there a downside to running extra oil?

Don't know much about extra oil in a quad, but I would say it's a bad idea. They tell you how much oil to put in for a reason.

I know in a car having too much oil is bad because if there is too much oil in the pan, the crankshaft will dip down too far into the oil. And that, A. Slows things down by forcing the crank to plow thru the oil and B. Can cause the oil to foam (air in the oil) which is a bad thing too.

Let's not forget to much oil will blow oil seals.

In the ol scrammy it called for like 2.6 qts, so I put 3 in, didn't seem to hurt it any. And everyone should deff run Lucas Oil Products in there motors :YEAH
