Question can you go from 12'n a quad to 12'n a big bike?

I just got an 02 400ex and can hit 12's all day. I can slow it to a crawl, standing or sitdown. Has anyone found it easier to 12 your streetbike after practicing on the quad? Do you think it actually helps with the big bikes, you know, throttle/brake control, or are they totally two different animals? Any feedback on this is appreciated

Two way different animals in my opinion. I'm working on 12ing my 750, it's hard because it's so snappy while near balance point going slow.

yep... apples and oranges... However, i guess you could say getiing use to any stunt on any machine sorta helps you the next time around, even if it is totally different.

Completely different. My quad has so much engine braking and power that wheelies are effortless and it twelves with very poor brake control.

Like everybody says....12'in a quad is way too easy to say it helps for learning anything on anything else. However, I'm sure that learning clutch, brakes, and the feel for balance point helps a fair amount....I mean, you are talking about two totally different animals, but the theory is the same and knowing that sure doesn't hurt.

Hazen from our crew (at 17yrs old) went from 1 year riding on a quad, to riding a streetbike and he was 12'ing after about his 7th riding session.

Re: can you go from 12'n a quad to 12'n a big bike?

on the quad it is alot easier it is different but you at least elarn what it feels like to de upright like that.....i went 20 up on the RR and it is way easier than stock I.M.O....but you have to adjust for power and the fact of left to right swaying.....the clutch and the brake are somewhat similar but that is about all.

Word! 12's on a bike ain't no Joke! Being a PImp on the quad did help me learn faster on the bike, but 12's are hard! Just got my stunt plastics and cage on. Been rocking tank **** and seat stands all day. Just started practicing 12's and holy sh*t is it hard! I'll get it though, just like anything else, all it takes is practice....
