So just to see what would happen I took the end cap off the stock exhaust on my Kfx-400. Sounds sick! It was more or les a silencer. Is this bad to do or can I just leave it off and enjoy the new sound ?

Here's my insight on it.
Fact: You will not gain anything but noise from doing this.

I would not do this simply because what is the point of having a loud pipe? Sure you think it's cool cause your bike is loud but honestly who cares? Your neighbors won't either will any civilan. All loud pipes do is **** off people and annoy them. I can get away with doing so much street riding and trail riding at any point and time because I keep 2 out of 3 of my bikes quiet. Now on my performance bike I put a Yoshimura exhaust on it, but I also have work done to it so I needed the pipe. So get a pipe when you have a reason to have it, that way you can get away with the illegal riding and stay out of the way of the cops.

Yeah I came to that conclusion rather quickly, so I bolted the tail section back on, it only sounded cool for like 5 mins then it was old. when I need something done I will do it right.

I had the same problem with the pipe on my warrior......I had complaints from the neighbors and had to put the stock pipe on.......Low and behold, they are still complaining with the stock pipe

Then your gonna put the sweet pipe back on? and beat them with the stock one ? :YEAH

I suppose a good free upgrade is to take the airbox lid off and rejet....won't help a lot, but it's free.
