400 EX quick question
anyone gear thier **** down to make them come up easier? Let me know what gears you used. Seems to need alot more clutch than my raptor did.
Damn thing idles on the 12 bar! My raptor never did that.
It'll take some getting used to - but be prepaired. Stunna time fo sho.

clutch?????
I never use the clutch to get mine up i just pinn it and pull. but i am aslo 6'2" and have 220 lbs to throw it around with. my cousin ran four bigger in ther rear because he did not want to change his case saver. i cant say it did a hole lot but make it toucher when he front was in the air. it also lost about 5 mph on the top end which is not handy for out running the 5/0 ...but it was nice in the woods which i doubt you care about. i would personally just keep it at stock but thats just my 2 cents

1000,
I think it's just a matter of getting used to where the power develops the most and timing the pull right.
I'm running stock gearing on my 400 and can pull it up in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th standing on the pegs with now clutch. I can pull it up in 5th with no clutch standing on the rear grab bar. I do legs over in 2nd with no clutch, but never tried in 3rd.
I think the gearing on the EX may be a little short as it is.
Rather than gearing I think you'd see more of an improvement with a Slip on or something. I am suprised at the difference it makes.
Ryan, Dan, and I all have Pro Circuit T-4's. They are really loud, but seem to work really well. You can snag one for about $199.
I haven't tried any other brand of pipe so I'm not sure how the T-4 compares to the others out there.
Congrats on the new quad.

I have a 14t front sprocket and the stock 15t. I still use the 15t for everything racing, stunting, jumping, and 5/0 chases:p Dans right, gearing it down just makes 1st gear worthless and takes away your top end speed.

Guess I just have to get used to it. I just noticed when crawling a 1st gear wheelie, you get it to chug like ur going to slow so you need more work the clutch.
Im gonna go take it out and get used to it - so used to my raptor having a quad that balances like that is strange.
