400 Ex Bar

Hey guys Im building a bar for me EX out of angle iron and a piece of flat steel. My problem is this I have to take my pieces once I mock them, up to a shop to to have it welded. I need to know about what angle to weld the plate on to scrape evenly.
Thanks for any help.

Are you bringing the whole bike to the shop or is this bar somehow getting bolted on.. If you can't fabricate and weld yourself i would definetely spend the money and have someone fabricate the bar for you with the bike there.. That way they can weld it right to your subframe.. Your also going to want to gusset your sub frame. If you don't strengthen your subframe your gonna eventually bend it. Trust me it happened to me on my z400. TO get the right angle i guess you could put your bike on an elevated table or something and flip the bike up to 12 and have someone mark the angle where the iron goes off the table. YOu get it. Kinda hard to explain. An idea may also be to use a round pipe for the across piece this way you reallly dont need the angle and it should wear a nice flat spot on the pipe. I have never done this or seen this and have no clue if it would work but it is just a suggestion
