Re: those new

Yup, all the frames have the serial # plate on 'em with the suzuki logo on 'em. The only thing Kawasaki on a KFX is the green plastics, which by the way, give it 12 more hp then the other Z/DVX's.

Re: those new

So, one R450 with a problems means that they all are bad? Get real.
Youve gotta expect problems in the first year. Polaris had problems with the first year of the Predator, Yamaha had problems with the first year of the Raptor and Honda still has problems with the valvetrains of their 450s.
There is no such thing as a perfect quad.

i just hear these things from mechanics and parts guys....but hey, what do they know...

the r450 is a BEAST i just dont see the point in dropping $7500 into something that MAY detonate...
maybe in a year or two it will be fixed...maybe not...its like the z frames..i have to get a new frame and subframe....hopefully one day theyll fix that too.
my point is if you are looking for a 400 get a Z, and if you are looking for a 450 get a honda (this coming from the BIGGEST suzuki lover EVER!!!)...

I would much rather have a YFZ than a 450R or R450 any Day

By the way Doug Gust has 4 stock LTR 450's and 2 moded ones and word is no problems yet, on either stock or moded

If thats the case than you are pretty much limited to a skateboard or a BMX bike because you can have problems with anything.
You cannot expect any engine that spins at 10,000+ rpm to last forever and never have problems. I dont care who makes it: Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki/Kawi/Cat or Polaris, they all break down every now and then.
You are right though, the price of the R450 is a little steep. Sure, it has +2 a-arms stock, but any real racer is going to swap those out for lighter, stronger ones anyways and Im not yet convinced that EFI is "all that". Its tough to beat the ease of tuning that you have with carbs.
About Doug Gust kicking butt on an R450, you could put any pro racer on anything and they would do well. Its all in the rider, not the machine.

****, if I get invited to go on long distance rides with a group I've learned to ask if there will be any pullurasses (polaris) going with. If so I won't go, I got tired of waiting on the side of the trail for 2, 3, 0r 4 hours. Polaris is JUNK I will never ever ever ever ever ride with someone who is bringing a polaris.

Huh How many times has that happened that just the polaris breaks down. Either that or you have one buddy who has a peice of ****.

I'll scratch the polaris decals off mine and refer to it as the Teal Monster so you can still ride with us sometime. Speaking of which...
What are you doing on Memorial weekend?
