New backflipper
After 2 years another rider pulls one. I think he's from Quebec up near Montreal...was just "discovered" recently so his progress is pretty insane.
Watch the vid here (pics are into a foam pit, but vid is ramp to dirt).
Congrats to this guy.

Re: New backflipper
Well Jon earned his title for sure....2 years went by before someone pulled it off.
Not saying that I hadn't heard things come out of his mouth that were a bit ****y, but it seems nowadays being "confident" is the "in thing".
Either way I'm glad this guy pulled the flip...Means we should see some new tricks out there once he gets it down.
Same thing happened with sleds. Jim Rippey pulled a backy basically before it was ever even talked about much, and he wasn't even a "pro rider". If I remember right it took about 2 years for somebody else to step up and nail it, and look at all the people doing them on sleds now.

Yeah I was down to give props to Jon for holding a tittle of "The only one..." thats almost unheard of in any Moto sport mostly cause everyone is partialy insane....but then he got on the Radio before doing a show out here and ever since then I have no respect for him.
On the other hand yes there is a ton of sled riders doing them but I hear from Blaze that it is a fairly easy stunt because you only need to be about 10 feet of the crest of the jump and the flip takes all momentum away so you're moving fairly slow, which apperantly makes bailing easy I guess.
Who knows maybe I'll try one on the "teal monster" this year. LOL yeah right

Yeah man I totally hear you. I think a lot of times the whole ****iness thing is just an act. I'm not saying I agree with it either.
Either way if this new dude progresses and can nail the backy at will then it will push things forward and we'll really see what's going on. Put up or shut up so to speak.
Will be cool to see what these guys come up with, and how quick we see a 3rd backflipper.

Re: New backflipper
I got that trick on lock. Just didn't want to be a show off, so I never invited anyone to the sledding hill where I attempt the stunt on my "nitro ice rider"
Seriously... sick trick. Lots of respect for even attempting that one!

Re: New backflipper
Few of you guys need to meet Jon...c0cky is the last word anyone could use to describe him.
I'm happy for Christian. You can tell from the video that comparing the fear for flipping to dirt and the fear for flipping to foam is impossible. He had the rotation into the pit perfect on the last 5-6 attempts. As soon as foam disappeared, he decides to shoot an extra 10 feet as well as under-rotate.
Glad to see another rider with the trick on their resume'
