2006 450r

One of my freinds that I ride with had just picked up a 450R and I have been hering some mixed opinons about the 450's being stunt quads. The quad looks sweet as all hell and I would love to have one. I was just looking for an honest answer from someone that has stunted one or attempted to stunt one.

Here we go again! Nothing against you bro, but us regulars here on the forum seem to have this conversation about twice a month for the past two years!

I rode a 2004 for a few hrs. this summer. It wheelies good but you gotta have some serious throttle control. Pretty easy to go past bp and slam it on the grab bar HARD!

Re: 2006 450r

ANYTHING can be stunted if you know what you are doing...
sure, some quads are more balanced for it than others, but i have stunted everything from a lil kids powerwheels to a 954rr... don't be an idiot and hop on the thing and give it full throttle, then be shocked when you are sitting on your *** in the middle of the road watching the machine you were just on slam off of four parked cars (say that five times fast!)
People AMAZE me when they say you need "serious throttle control".... duh!
how many quads you ridin that you dont need throttle control? Unless your just doin power wheelies, i think above mentioned throttle control comes into play at some point...
I ran into this kid in a pit down the road from me when me and a few buddys went riding... he had an o3 kfx 400... loud as hell, with a huge bar hanging off the back... I'm talking it ran from the outside tip of one fender to the other... the WHOLE width of the quad... i was talking to him, and he informs me its so he can scrape it down the road... im thinking "ok, this kid is a toolbag... you don't need 3 feet of 12 bar to scrape down the road"
then he tells me, "yeah, the stock one is junk. i snapped it off the first time I scraped it. I woudn't try that on yours. you'll break it right off."
at which point i had to laugh in his face and show him mine has hit the ground "a few" times and has not bent at all, cuz i have control over my quad, and i dont hit it full throttle.
I then notice he has no rear brakes... no caliper, no rotor, no nothing... wow, a real skippy...
and the reason his wuad is sooo loud, he took the mufflar off... just head pipe dumping out just before the rear fender... yep, a real professional here folks... lol

JD you ride with 3 people that have them why don't you just ask us, you don't think your going to get mixed opinions on here? If you want something easy to stunt get a 400 of any make, if not get anything else and be original

^This was not posted to offend any 400 riders, but it is a proven fact and you all are sick^

Just meant that the 450r is way more twitchy when compared to the 400's!
sorry didn't know that hittin the grab bar on accident would make me a toolbag!

and btw open exhausts rule!

Re: 2006 450r

o...
yeah, well i just think everyone that doesnt own a 400 gets this impression that 400s are just "hop on and do a perfect wheelie"
not the case at all... even my buddys 125 3 wheeler needs throttle control...

Re: 2006 450r

My ATC is 99% thottle control and 1% of a brake that doesn't work you just have the natural reaction to try and use it. I like having to use mostly thottle control becuase I think it will help out with the skill level of the rider. In some cases.

If you've riden before they are "hop on and do a perfect wheelie" quads
You guys think 450r's are bad for throttle control ride a DS650 some time
