MY new ride........

I just picked up a 95 Dodge ram pickup truck!
4x4, the body is in really good shape and it will
get me where I need to go this year!

I'll post pics later this week

Sorry to thread-jack Carl!!!

It is the green truck in one of those pics. It's a 94' S-10, V6 4.3, 4x4, Ext Cab. It has a K&N Filter, Class 3 hitch, bedliner, toneau cover, brand new AT tires, CD player, tinted rear windows, 172k miles.... and an oil leak. I plan on fixing the oil leak before I'll even consider selling. It also needs valves adjusted. Also something I will fix before selling. I do not want to get rid of the truck "as is" because I won't get the money I want for it. I'm hoping to get $2,000obo. MPG is 23 highway, 19 city. The truck runs strong and I have complete records of everything I've ever done to the vehicle. I picked it up from the original owner at 103k. It was originally a VT truck and I lived in CO the entire time I've owned it... give or take a few months. Every oil change, except 2, were done by me. I also did a lube to the front end almost every oil change as well as clean the air filter. It's been a very good truck to me and has gotten me across the country 4 times!!! So most of those miles are highway. It's located in Rochester, NY. I won't be fixing those minor problems till late Feb. I have a lot of traveling for work, and won't be able to get it all done until then. Please ask any questions!

Drew,
power options? (windows/locks)
where is the oil leaking from, the head gasket or oil pan?
you say it needs a valve job... those trucks are common for the head gaskets going (4.3 "Z" engine code) and losing good lubrication to the top end. It is possible if this is the case, it will need more than just a valve job...
at any rate, i was just hoping to find out a lil more about it... miles do not scare me at all, esp if the person took care of it. I had an 86 s10 blazer with almost 300k on it (it had a 2.8 in it too.... ok, it had been replaced tho..,) an Integra with 270k, and a gmc K1500 with 220k... my mazda has 180k, and the list goes on...
Now my jeep, on the other hand, only has 64k on it... see where im going with this...lol

Re: MY new ride........

Carl, you're gonna have to sell your quad to put gas in that dodge. They like it alot. Had a 99 w/ a 318, then a 360, and it got 10 usually and 11 if I was lucky.

No power options... nothing. Manual everything. Doesn't have cruise, tilt, or ac.

I believe the leak is coming from a leak in the line that goes to the oil filter. Those trucks have a relocated filter near the front bumper for an easier oil change. I believe it's a simple fix, but without looking into it further I can't be certain.

The valves have been ticking since about 165k, so I just want to get them adjusted. I'm sure it's due to the miles... nothing more.

As you can see... the body is near perfect with only a few rust spots. Not bad for the age.
