12 Bar 400ex
im currently finishing up a 12 bar on a 400ex that is like no other one i have seen and is real strong. But im haveing a problem getting the 400 to sit at 12 properly. can someone please please give me the distance from the plastic to the end on the bar so i can have it sitting at 12. As soon as i get this info and finish it up i will post plenty of pics. Thanks.

I dont know the exact distance for what you need to know, but a real easy way to figure it out is by taking 2 yard sticks, or flat pieces of metal about 3 or 4 feet long. Place one stick against the furthest back edge of the tires and maybe tape it there with duct tape. then take the other stick and hold it vertical against the first stick in the middle of the quad where it could touch the 12 bar. Then take a level and hold it against the vertical stick. Slide the vertical stick against the 12 bar until the level reads perfectly vertical then mark the distance on the bar. You can also use the same technique for when you need to cut the right angle on the bar if that's applicable. Hope this is clear enough and maybe helps out.

thanks for the quick reply. no i tink i follow you until the level. how do you hold the level? so it is the width is going up and down and it is flat against the yard stick or so the width of the level is on the yard stick it self?

Hold the level where the long side is going up and down, against the yard stick that is going up and down. You'll have to read the level from the short glass that will end up being horizontal when the yard stick is in place.

Re: 12 Bar 400ex
i had a friend do my 12 bar, he welded it right to the frame and it works amazing good, make sure you weld on extra supports to your frame, otherwise it will crack, if you hit it too hard
but i have a 300ex but i would go through the same process if i had 400ex
